Miandad: IPL is a joke, matches are fixed

FORMER PAKISTAN Captain, Javed Miandad strongly feels that there is a serious possibility of matches being fixed in the cash rich Indian Premier League. The swashbuckling batsman further added that he considers the IPL Twenty20 as a joke.

Maindad said that the IPL, which is being played in South Africa has provided some suprising results where a number of games have been lost from winning positions. He feels that something fishy is going on in the IPL where strange things are taking place, reported a leading newspaper.

Maindad said, "I dont consider the IPL as cricket, it is a joke." He added that it is strange that players who aren't regular bowlers are picking up hat-tricks in matches and teams, which are all set to win are gifting away the matches from winning positions. He feels that ICC should step in and check possible corruption in the mega event.
